About Kelly
Kelly Maddocks is a creative from Queensland, Australia.
She aims to bring energy to a space with the intention of encouraging optimistic reflection and nostalgia. She uses colour and texture to create light and movement within her paintings, and bold graphics to create statement pieces.
Kelly is heavily influenced by nostalgia, from mid-century design, the golden era of abstract expressionism and icons of pop culture.
Having always been an artist at heart, Kelly rediscovered her love for painting shortly after becoming a mum and has started to document her journey on social media.
MUSIC
Kelly’s interest in music and the influence of rock started at a young age by introduction from her older siblings.
Having attended her first live concert at the age of 14, Kelly continued to regularly attend live performances and music festivals throughout high school and beyond.
Her relationship with rock music has been ever-present in all aspects of life. Kelly’s first published article as a journalist was a Guns ‘N’ Roses concert review.
Kelly still attends live music concerts frequently and has channelled her love for the industry, as well as her adoration for music legends, through her artwork.
THE STUDIO
A little corner of paradise, Kelly’s art studio is where all the magic happens. Positioned at the back of the home, overlooking the family backyard, it is the hub of creativity and play. Kelly is often joined in the studio by her two toddlers who love to paint and create.
The studio is set for an upgrade in 2027. Watch this space.
